Research:
The overarching focus of the Schumann laboratory is to define the neurobiological mechanisms underlying aberrant cellular and molecular development of the brain in individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism, and other psychiatric disorders across lifespans. Over the last 18 years, her laboratory has taken a multidisciplinary approach to examine lifelong human brain development, utilizing a wide array of methodologies from longitudinal magnetic resonance imaging to postmortem cellular and molecular techniques.
